Okay...I've decided that having a tumblr isn't enough. I need to bring the brotherly, non-incesty, non-squicky goodness to deviantART.

I've searched - and SEARCHED - and maybe I didn't use the right keywords or something, but so far I've found only ONE GROUP dedicated to the dynamic duo of FMA. ONE GROUP. And it's a very awesome group, mind you, but it's gots squicky elricest gross stuff too, bleh but considering all the gazillions of fanclubs all the FMA pairings have...I think the awesome platonic relationships deserve some more love, especially Ed and Al. It's their beautiful, selfless devotion to each other that sucked me so deeply into FMA in the first place, and I think that deserves to be celebrated! In ways that DON'T involve them smexing each other up. Eesh. Love doesn't have to be sexual to mean somethin', folks... >.>

UPDATE #2: IT'S OFFICIAL! There will be a surprise guest star in this project, who just so happens to be one of the main English VAs from FMA/Brotherhood!!! So DON'T MISS OUT!! OMG I'M SO EXCITED AAAHHHHHH!!!!

ALSO, I'm extending the deadline to September 29th! If there's no way you can make it by the 24th, you now have an extra 5 days as wiggle room. Just keep in mind...the longer you wait to send in your entry, the less likely I'll be able to use it. I NEED to have the final video ready to post BY October 3rd, so I have to have plenty of time to put everything together. Alright?

I'm gearing up for FMA Day with something REALLY awesome. BUT I NEED YOUR HELP TO DO IT!! It's called "Project Don't Forget" and it's going to be AMAZING, but I need all my fellow FMA fans to join in for it to work!

What is Project Don't Forget?

A well-told and well-loved story can be one of the most powerful things in the world, and Fullmetal Alchemist is no exception. This is a chance for you to tell the world YOUR Fullmetal story - why you love FMA, what it means to you and how it's impacted your life. Every fan has a story, and the goal of Project Don't Forget is to bring those stories together.

So here's what I need YOU to do.

Maybe it's just because I've finally found the Ed to my Al (love you, Dana!), but lately I've felt super fangirly for the Elric brothers' relationship. I can't stop staring at the fanart, reading fanfiction, watching AMVs, rereading and rewatching my favorite FMA brotherly moments...so you know what? I thought "what the heck?" and decided to bring all the brotherly goodness together in one place.

...I've fandubbed one of Brotherhood's theme songs. With my own english lyrics. And it probably won't be the last time.

The theme I did was "Ray of Light", the fifth and final ending song in the series. I wasn't crazy about this song at first; but when I took time to really listen to it, I was struck by the lovely harmonies and how beautifully melodic it was. And once I looked up some english translations of the lyrics, I thought, "Wow, there's some beautiful emotion in this." It's angsty, but also hopeful; and that's a mix I can never resist.

I also couldn't get past how insanely Conqueror-of-Shamballa-ish the lyrics felt; it sounded so much like Ed stuck in our world, missing his brother and trying to find a way back to him. Possibly Winry, too. Both my inner EdWin fangirl and Elric-brotherly-love fangirl are eating it up with spoons. xD I may hate how that movie ended, but it did have class, and there WERE some beautiful ideas in it...

I've taken some artistic liberties, here and there (none of those "alleluia's" are in the original, but the word the singer was singing sounded awfully similar to it and I couldn't get it out of my brain. And it sounded pretty. So I put it in. Nyeh). But I tried hard to capture the spirit of the song. Feel free to critique it and let me know what you think! I'm pretty new at this!
